The Ceremony this year is being mounted by the Australian Flying Corps  and Royal Australian Air Force Association ( NSW Division Inc)  in conjunction in partnership with the Bomber Command Association of Australia NSW Inc

REPORTS on 2016 Ceremonies

As in past years ceremonies were  held in capital cities of Australia to commemorate the service and sacrifice of Bomber Command aircrew. With the exception of Perth and Adelaide all ceremonies were  held on Sunday June 5

Sunday June 5

Weather conditions…..WET. But with everyone sheltered on the walkway near the GPO building the ceremony went ahead. Eight BC veterans were in attendance. Wreaths were laid though some wreaths  did not make it to Sydney due to the adverse weather conditions. The Knox Pipe Band as in 2015 were instrumental is setting an appropriate tone and Bugler Ben Close was impressive. In adding to the solemnity and importance of the Service was Custodian of the Cenotaph Will Smith who stood in the rain for the the duration of the ceremony and the Catafalque party from Richmond Air Base.
